My 7 year old son is a little bit of a shy read-aloud boy, but these poems are just the right length to not be too daunting to do so. He was hooked from the start and where we initially took turns to read, he took the book off me and wanted to read them all himself 🙂 The rhymes are produced in a friendly, easy to read font and the illustrations bring each poem alive. Brian the Lion was a particular favourite! A great book of rhymes with age-appropriate vocabulary, length of prose and really encouraging to a child who wants to read it themselves.
